MIB vintage Colgate Palmolive's Fab Picture Doll (advertising doll for Fab laundry detergent) is the Type #2 Fortune Pam type doll with a beautiful light ash-blonde mohair wig with lots of curls, sleep eyes, molded lashes and T-strap shoes. Her walker works beautifully and her arms hold a pose.   In 1957, Colgate Palmolive's “Fab Picture Doll” (advertising doll for Fab laundry detergent), was a mail-in offer for $1.00 along with a FAB box top. The Fab Picture Doll used Fortune’s 8” Pam type doll with ash blonde mohair flip and molded T-strap shoes. She was a sleep eyed, walking doll with molded lashes, lighter arms (typical of Pam dolls) and a mold line behind her ear like a Virga doll.

She wears her original crisp pink taffeta dress with blue picot trim, white loopy-trim taffeta panties, pink socks with pink vinyl strap shoes and pink straw hat with ribbon trim. The hat chinstrap is stretched, but still has the attached original “Made in Japan” tag. Doll came in what looks like the original narrow advertising box (small scuff on lid), though not the shipper. RARE and HTF in this condition!  For more information about the special dolls, see p. 255 of Small Dolls of the 40's & 50's by Carol J. Stover.
