RARE 1956 Madame Alexander-kins "Southern Belle" that is rarely seen for sale on the web. She has a triple-stitched honey blonde wig with elaborately arranged side curls unique to this doll only. She wears an aqua and cream striped taffeta gown with bustle, train and pagoda-style sleeves with slight aging to the lace sleeve ruffles. The dress is tagged on the inside. Under her dress she wears muslin pantaloons with lace around the pant hemline (waist eleastic is streched) and a beautiful antique style ecru petticoat. The waistband elastic is stretched and held together with a safety pin, and the sheer muslin flounce is torn in the back, but maybe a talented seamstress could repair it. She also has white socks and gold side-snap shoes with smooth bottoms. Her black woven hat has an upturned front brim decorated with cluster of berries and flowers (hat is held on currently by a straight pin) with a few typical chips to the berries. Finally, she wears her original black half-loop earrings studded with faux "diamonds," which are unique to this doll and outfit.  A picture of this rare Alexander-kin can be found on page 66 of "The World of Alexander-kins" by Patricia Smith.

Condition: Doll is is good overall condition; walker works, but her knees are stiff and I haven't tried to force them to bend. She has pale face coloring with a bare hint of blush, and her eyes open and close early.  *Click the link below to see an enlarged picture collage with close-up views.
